One Month Before a Heart Attack, Your Body Will Alert You: Here Are the 6 Symptoms!

That viral claim needs an important correction: there are not six symptoms that reliably appear exactly one month before a heart attack. Some people have warning symptoms days or weeks beforehand, while others have little or no warning.

6 possible warning symptoms to take seriously

  1. Chest pressure, squeezing, or discomfort — especially if it occurs with activity or keeps returning.
  2. Shortness of breath — with or without chest discomfort.
  3. Unusual fatigue or weakness — particularly if it’s new or disproportionate to your usual activity.
  4. Pain or discomfort spreading to the arm, shoulder, back, neck, jaw, or upper abdomen.
  5. Nausea, indigestion, or unusual sweating — these can accompany a heart attack and may be more prominent in some people.
  6. Dizziness or feeling faint — especially when occurring together with other symptoms.

Symptoms can be less typical in women, older adults, and people with diabetes, so don’t wait for classic crushing chest pain.

🚨 Don’t wait for a “one-month warning”

If you have new or persistent chest pressure/discomfort, severe shortness of breath, fainting, or symptoms that strongly suggest a heart attack, seek emergency medical help immediately. A heart attack can happen without a long warning period, and early treatment can save heart muscle and lives.

If you tell me whether you’re asking because you currently have one of these symptoms, I can help you decide how urgent it is.
