🍗 Easy Teriyaki Chicken
A quick, sweet-savory chicken dinner that works well with rice and vegetables.
Ingredients
- 1½ lb (700 g) boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts
- ½ cup soy sauce
- ÂĽ cup honey or brown sugar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water
Instructions
- Make the sauce: Whisk soy sauce, honey, garlic, ginger, and rice vinegar together.
- Cook the chicken: Cut chicken into bite-size pieces. Heat a little oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and cook for about 6–8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until cooked through.
- Add the sauce: Pour the teriyaki mixture over the chicken and simmer for 2–3 minutes.
- Thicken: Mix cornstarch with water, stir it into the skillet, and cook for another 1–2 minutes until glossy and thickened.
- Serve: Spoon over steamed rice and add broccoli, carrots, or another favorite vegetable.
