WRINKLES ON THE MOUTH, NO NEED TO WASTE TIME WITH CREAMS: THE REMEDY IS IN THE PANTRY

That headline is misleading: no pantry ingredient has been proven to erase wrinkles around the mouth. Some DIY ingredients can actually irritate or burn facial skin.

For mouth-area wrinkles, the evidence-based basics are:

  • Daily broad-spectrum SPF 30+ to limit UV-related collagen damage.
  • A moisturizer to temporarily plump and soften the appearance of fine lines.
  • A retinoid/retinol can improve fine wrinkles over time by supporting collagen production.
  • Avoid rubbing, picking, lemon juice, baking soda, toothpaste, or other harsh “pantry remedies.”

If you want a simple pantry-based option, plain petroleum jelly (Vaseline) can help prevent moisture loss and make dry fine lines look less pronounced temporarily—but it won’t remove the wrinkles.
