Note that if you always sleep on your right side, you should have… See more

If you’re referring to the viral claim that sleeping on your right side means you “should” do something specific, be cautious. There is no universal rule that people who sleep on their right side need a particular supplement, food, exercise, or medical treatment.

Sleeping on your right side: what actually matters

  • Reflux: Some people with acid reflux find that sleeping on the left side reduces nighttime reflux compared with the right side.
  • Sleep comfort: Side sleeping can be perfectly healthy. A pillow between the knees and appropriate head/neck support can improve comfort.
  • Pregnancy: Side sleeping is generally encouraged later in pregnancy, but recommendations should come from the person’s maternity-care provider.
  • Snoring or sleep apnea: Side sleeping may reduce airway obstruction for some people compared with sleeping on the back, but it doesn’t replace evaluation or treatment for sleep apnea.

If the “See more” post you’re referring to says that right-side sleepers “should have” a particular food, drink, or supplement, send me the rest of the claim and I can tell you whether it’s medically supported.
