If you want to clean a glass stovetop quickly without scratching it, try this:
- Let the stovetop cool completely.
- Wipe away loose crumbs with a soft microfiber cloth.
- Put a few drops of dish soap on the surface and add a little warm water.
- Lay a warm, damp microfiber cloth over stubborn spots for 5–10 minutes to soften them.
- Wipe gently in circular motions.
- For burned-on residue, use a ceramic/glass cooktop scraper held at a low angle—never a knife or abrasive metal pad.
- Wipe with clean water and buff dry with a microfiber cloth to prevent streaks.
Avoid: steel wool, scouring powders, harsh abrasive cleaners, and scrubbing with gritty materials. Also don’t pour cold water onto a hot glass surface.
For a particularly stubborn burnt-on ring, tell me what caused it (milk, sugar, grease, plastic, etc.)—the safest method differs, especially for melted sugar or plastic.
