🧽 A Simple Way to Clean Oven Door Glass Without Harsh Chemicals
For greasy, cloudy oven glass, baking soda and water can loosen baked-on residue without relying on strong chemical fumes.
What you’ll need
- ½ cup baking soda
- A little warm water
- A soft sponge or microfiber cloth
- A plastic scraper or old card for stubborn spots
How to clean it
- Make sure the oven is completely cool.
- Mix baking soda with a small amount of water until you have a thick paste.
- Spread the paste over the inside of the oven glass, avoiding the door’s vents, seals, and other openings.
- Leave it for 30–60 minutes; for heavy buildup, you can leave it longer.
- Gently wipe with a damp sponge.
- For stubborn burnt-on spots, carefully use a plastic scraper rather than anything sharp or abrasive.
- Wipe several times with clean water until all residue is gone, then dry with a microfiber cloth.
✨ Important safety tip
Don’t pour water directly into the oven door or soak the door. Avoid abrasive pads and harsh cleaners unless your oven manufacturer says they’re safe for the glass.
For between-the-glass grime, don’t disassemble the oven door unless the manufacturer’s instructions specifically explain how to do it safely.
