The trick to cleaning the oven ‘effortlessly’. Even the burn…

🧽 The “Effortless” Way to Clean a Dirty Oven

For baked-on grease and burnt-on food, you can make the job much easier with baking soda, dish soap, and water—without relying on harsh fumes.

What to do

  1. Let the oven cool completely. Remove the racks and loose crumbs.
  2. Make a paste: Mix about ½ cup baking soda with a few tablespoons of water and a small amount of dish soap. You want a spreadable paste.
  3. Apply it to greasy or burned areas, avoiding heating elements, gas burners, vents, and electrical components.
  4. Leave it for several hours or overnight. The paste has time to soften the baked-on residue.
  5. Wipe and scrub gently with a damp sponge or microfiber cloth. A plastic scraper can help with stubborn deposits.
  6. Rinse thoroughly with clean water so no baking-soda residue remains.
  7. Wash the racks separately in warm soapy water.

⚠️ Important

Don’t mix bleach with vinegar, ammonia, or other cleaners, and don’t use abrasive materials that can damage the oven’s finish.

If your oven has a self-cleaning or steam-cleaning function, check the manufacturer’s instructions before using homemade cleaners—some products or residues aren’t suitable for those cycles.

For a really stubborn burnt patch, repeat the treatment rather than aggressively scraping it, which can damage the oven surface.
