This natural and effective remedy for relieving constipation

If you’re looking for a safe, evidence-based natural remedy for mild constipation, one of the better options is prunes.

Simple prune remedy

  • Eat 4–6 prunes (dried plums) daily to start.
  • Drink a glass of water alongside them.
  • Give your body time to respond rather than taking a large amount at once.
  • If needed, gradually increase your fiber intake with vegetables, fruit, beans, oats, and whole grains.

Prunes contain fiber and sorbitol, which can help draw water into the bowel and promote more regular stools.

Another option is kiwifruit, which provides fiber and may improve stool frequency and consistency.

Avoid aggressive “colon cleanses” or large doses of laxatives marketed as detox remedies. If constipation is persistent, severe, or accompanied by vomiting, significant abdominal pain, blood in the stool, unexplained weight loss, or inability to pass gas, seek medical care.
