🍗 5-Ingredient Slow-Cooker Chicken Thighs
A budget-friendly, comforting dinner with tender chicken and a flavorful sauce.
Ingredients
- 1 pack bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs (about 2½–3 lb)
- 1 can (10½ oz) cream of chicken soup
- 1 packet dry onion soup mix
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 lb baby potatoes, halved
Instructions
- Place the chicken thighs in the slow cooker.
- Add the potatoes around the chicken.
- Whisk together the cream of chicken soup, onion soup mix, and chicken broth, then pour over everything.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 5–6 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours, until the chicken is tender and reaches at least 165°F (74°C) internally.
- If you want crispier skin, transfer the cooked thighs to a baking sheet and broil for a few minutes until browned.
Serve the chicken with the potatoes and spoon the creamy sauce over everything.
Budget tip: Prices vary considerably by location, so the “under $10” claim isn’t guaranteed—but bone-in chicken thighs are often one of the more economical cuts.
