🍰 90-Calorie Chocolate Mug Cake

If you’re looking for a light, single-serving after-dinner cake, here’s an easy version around 90–110 calories depending on the ingredients.

🍰 90-Calorie Chocolate Mug Cake

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp oat flour — about 25 calories

  • 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder — about 10 calories

  • 1 tbsp granulated sweetener — 0 calories if using a zero-calorie sweetener

  • ¼ tsp baking powder

  • 2 tbsp unsweetened almond milk — about 3–5 calories

  • 1 tbsp unsweetened applesauce — about 7 calories

  • ½ tsp vanilla extract — about 3 calories

  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Add the oat flour, cocoa powder, sweetener, baking powder, and salt to a microwave-safe mug.

  2. Stir in the almond milk, applesauce, and vanilla until you have a smooth batter.

  3. Microwave for 40–60 seconds, depending on your microwave. Stop when the center is just set.

  4. Let it stand for 1 minute before eating.

Optional topping

Add a few fresh berries or a teaspoon of light yogurt. Keep in mind that toppings will increase the calorie count.

Tip: Don’t overcook it. A few extra seconds in the microwave can turn a small mug cake from soft and fudgy into something dry and rubbery.

The calorie estimate is approximate and depends on the specific brands and sweetener you use.
