If you have a heart attack at home, do this in 10 seconds and you can save your life.(1 / 2)

❤️ If You Suspect a Heart Attack, Do This Immediately

The viral claim that a 10-second trick can stop a heart attack is misleading. There is no breathing technique, cough, drink, or other home remedy that can reliably stop a heart attack.

What to do right away

  1. Call your local emergency medical service immediately. Don’t wait to see whether the symptoms disappear.

  2. Stop what you’re doing and sit or lie somewhere safe.

  3. Unlock your door if you’re alone and keep your phone nearby.

  4. If you have prescribed nitroglycerin, use it according to your doctor’s instructions.

  5. Ask the emergency dispatcher about aspirin. It can be appropriate for some suspected heart attacks, but not for everyone.

  6. If the person becomes unresponsive and isn’t breathing normally, start CPR and use an AED if available.

🚨 Symptoms to take seriously

A heart attack may cause:

  • Pressure, squeezing, fullness, or pain in the chest

  • Pain or discomfort spreading to the arm, shoulder, back, neck, or jaw

  • Shortness of breath

  • Cold sweating

  • Nausea or vomiting

  • Dizziness or unusual weakness

Symptoms aren’t always dramatic, and some people may have little or no obvious chest pain.

The real lifesaving “10-second action” is to activate emergency help immediately. Don’t drive yourself if emergency medical transport is available.
