Suffering from poor circulation? Here’s how to fix it in just 20 minutes!

If you’re seeing a claim that “poor circulation can be fixed in just 20 minutes,” be cautious. There is no single 20-minute trick that permanently fixes poor circulation, and the treatment depends on the cause.

For mild, temporary sluggishness from sitting or inactivity, you can often improve blood flow within about 20 minutes by:

  • Walking for 10–20 minutes at a comfortable pace.
  • Moving your ankles and calves: flex and point your feet and make ankle circles.
  • Avoiding prolonged sitting—stand up and move around every 30–60 minutes.
  • Elevating your legs for a short period if they feel swollen after standing or sitting.
  • Staying hydrated and avoiding smoking.

But persistent “poor circulation” can be caused by peripheral artery disease, vein problems, diabetes, nerve disorders, or other medical conditions, and exercise alone won’t correct the underlying problem.

🚨 Get urgent medical help if

A leg or foot suddenly becomes very painful, cold, pale/blue, numb, or weak, or if you develop chest pain or sudden difficulty breathing. Those symptoms can signal a serious vascular problem.

If your feet are regularly cold, numb, painful, swollen, or changing color, it’s better to have the cause evaluated rather than relying on a quick circulation remedy.
