🥔 Creamy Mashed Potatoes

🥔 Creamy Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients

  • 1 kg potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks

  • 4 tablespoons butter

  • ½–¾ cup warm milk

  • 1 teaspoon salt, plus more to taste

  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

  • 2–3 cloves garlic, optional

  • 2 tablespoons cream, optional, for extra richness

Instructions

  1. Boil the potatoes: Put potatoes in a large pot and cover with cold water. Add 1 teaspoon salt. Bring to a boil and cook for 15–20 minutes, until fork-tender.

  2. Drain well: Drain the potatoes and let them sit in the hot pot for 1–2 minutes so excess moisture evaporates.

  3. Mash: Add the butter and mash until smooth.

  4. Add milk: Gradually mix in warm milk until you reach your preferred consistency.

  5. Season: Add black pepper and more salt to taste.

  6. Serve: For extra creamy potatoes, stir in the optional cream and serve immediately with a little melted butter on top.

Tip: Don’t overmix or blend the potatoes—they can become gluey.
